Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing that involves a practitioner using their hands to guide "life force energy" (known as ki) through the body to promote relaxation, stress reduction, and healing. The practice is based on the belief that energy blockages can lead to illness, and that free-flowing energy through the body's energy centers (chakras) is essential for well-being. During a session, a client remains fully clothed and can be either sitting or lying down as the practitioner gently places their hands on or just above specific areas of the body.
